Sumter, FL Fishing Report

Sumter, FL Fishing Report »

June 2009-The water is up over a foot now and the conditions are good. The full moon weekend in June was another good one. Visitors from north Florida did real well on both Bluegills and Shellcrackers. All were nice size too!! The yearling bass fishing has been good also.Jim Maddox and Walt Davis are catching their share of bass on Top Water. They have had a few in the 5# to 6# class. Good news from FWC fish Biologist at the Eustis lab. This years fish spawn and yearling bass population is as good as you can get. "Quote" from one long time veteran fish biologist. "This may be the best crop of small fish I have ever seen in all the years I have been with the FWC. With all that said the water is up, the fishing is good, so lets go fishing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
