In a slow economy, it is more important than ever for business people to work together. Leads groups are small meetings of business people which meet weekly and exchange business leads and referrals.

Leads groups allow members to develop strong relationships with their counterparts in a variety of other businesses. At each meeting, members are encouraged to exchange business leads -- potential clients or customers for other members of the group. In effect, their contacts become your contacts; their customers can become your customers. Members also rotate making short presentations about their businesses.

The Sumter County Chamber of Commerce leads groups operate under the following mission statement:
The Sumter Chamber Leads Groups will provide an opportunity for deeper networking between Sumter County Chamber of Commerce business members with the goal of increasing each other’s business through relationship building and the sharing of leads.

You must be a current Sumter County Chamber member to become a member of a leads group. Each leads group meets weekly and can have up to two businesses per category until they reach 20 members, after
which only new business categories are permitted. The maximum number of members per group is 30. A single business can become a member of more than one leads group. A joint meeting of all leads groups is held quarterly.

Guests are welcome to come and see if joining one of our groups is right for them.

For information about joining a leads group, contact the Sumter County Chamber of Commerce at 352-793-3099 or e-mail us at sumter-coc@sumterchamber.org.
